I came across a blog article about "On the State
of Open Source" a few weeks ago:

There was a time when people on the island used
to exchange shareware. Nowadays, it is easy for
anyone in Mauritius to download free software
(Open Source Software). Unfortunately, there
isn't a mindset of sharing in
Mauritius. Furthermore, Open Source is a
lucrative business while it is being promoted as
in Mauritius as something being done for charitable purposes.
