Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to the Consumer Protection Unit as I
would like to have your advice about Internet Service Provider advertising.
The word "illimite" is used at
http://lafibre.myt.mu/ The explanation of that
word in a French disctionary is "Qui n'est pas
limité, qui est sans restriction ou sans terme
fixé". I compared the usage of the word
"illimite" on that web page and with how it is
used in the document at
http://www.orange.mu/internet/pdfs/Orange-ADSL-Home-brochure.PDF
The document uses the word "illimite" for "Acces
Internet" whereas the web page uses it for
"Transfert de donnees (avec FUP)". The web page
explains that the "FUP" as "après quoi vous aurez
un accès illimité mais à une vitesse réduite jusqu’à la fin du mois".
Is the usage of "illimite" on the web page misleading?
Is the "FUP" applicable to the "Vitesse de
telechargement" or the "Transferts de donnees"?
Regards,
S. Moonesamy
