Hi Shelly,

> So what if I come across such kind of problem? Do I contact the CCID?
Because from what I read on the article, they don't seem to solve the
issue but make fun of it. :)

As per this article[1], law enforcers themselves resort to paying off
the ransomware operators (or are they instead trying to trace back the
operators?). Ransomware is a very interesting topic as its use and
interest have increased by much lately. The idea behind the ransomware
is that your information is held hostage by either encrypting it or
locking you out of your device. Inevitably if you don't want to lose
these information, you have no other choice than to pay the operators. A
regular backup of the targeted system might come in handy but what if
these information risk being leaked out on the internet? How do you deal
effectively with such threat?

I don't think the CCID will be able or intend to do anything about it.
The technology behind some ransomware is advanced and trying to
recover your information by disabling the ransomware ends up like
defusing a bomb.

Regards, Mike
