Hi SM & Ish,

The internet feels like a giant Swiss Army Knife for me. A computer
connected to that network can be both a target and tool in
compromising security of a user. Recently one of my friends was victim
of a blackmailing attempt from disclosing personal information online
to someone behind a fake persona and I came to realize how unprepared
some users are when it comes to dealing with such matters. While
browsing a dangerous website, you can fall prey to a drive-by download
where you end up with several malwares on your machine with some of
them being ransomwares. Some of these malwares can extract personal
information from your machine. Harassment is also a common thing on
the internet. It comes in the form of cyberbullying, cyberstalking or
even internet trolling.

Often, the parents themselves are victims of these cybercrimes but
surely when counseling their children, they are able to remind/teach
them about moral sense that will aid in being safer on the internet.

Regards, Mike
