In there any value for me to share with
you? Will someone else take the idea and pass it
as his/her own idea or will I get credit for
it? is there anything interesting related to the
internet in Mauritius which happened
today? There is unfortunately very little
sharing on the island. There is very little
public information available. Some of that
public information is either obsolete or biased.

During discussions with bodies such as government
agencies or international agencies I have been
asked about the number of persons in the
group. I would not be comfortable saying that
there are hundreds of subscribers if most of the
subscriptions were inactive email accounts or
fake accounts. Is the example mentioned above a
good one? 80% of the contributions are from
developers who are paid for that work. That
mailing list has been around since 1996. Is
there any active technology-related group in
Mauritius which has been around that long?

It is not possible for a subscriber to determine
whether his/her input is valuable if there isn't
any feedback. I see the value of your input. I
sometimes refrain from sending a reply as I would
not be leaving an opportunity for other
subscribers to express their views. It's nice to
read your comment about "push" and "pull". :-)

That's a good suggestion.

A message from a person in Mauritius who is not a
subscriber is distributed to the mailing list if
the content is related to the internet in
Mauritius. The person is also offered the
ability to reply to a message or else the
subscribers might only have a one-sided view of a discussion.
