Hi,

I hope the implementation process is not as lengthy as it is already by
our current ISPs aiming at FTTH or even FTTA.
I do expect to see a restriction/limitation (capping) of some sort on
such a connection for the mentioned pricing. What now? We can only guess
and speculate.

It is a very good initiative in my point of view. Providing such
connection speed however will not be as easy as flipping a switch. I
would be interested to know more about the outcome of the informal talk
with the said employee. As of now, I do think that Orange Mauritius has
the ability to provide such a connection speed. Whether they will go for
it in a near future is another thing we could debate on.

Point to be noted: For the gaming community, there is very little
concern about download speed. The main focus is on upload speed and
latency. As long as there is an uncapped connection with 6mbps or more
in terms of upload speed and good consistent latency results (50 - 90ms)
to international servers in Singapore, Tokyo or Malaysia for instance,
the community is satisfied. MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) games
nowadays are coded around great lag-compensation techniques. As such, 50
or even 90 milliseconds latency in-game is unnoticeable and the gaming
experience is amazing.

Thank you,
Mike
