It is discouraging to keep a public mailing list running over here if
the discussions are non-technical as things can take a wrong turn or
even a legal turn. There was a news article in which it was
suggested that Facebook postings should be moderated. Is that
expected for a public mailing list? I don't know. Would anyone on
the island offer to help if there is a problem? I would not count on that.

The topics of discussion are usually about the internet in
Mauritius. There isn't much interest in discussing about IXPs. The
topic was raised by Logan. He's the only subscriber who could have
asked you to comment about IXPs. You can comment without subscribing
to the mailing list if you wish to do so as long as the topic is
directly related to the internet in Mauritius.

I do the usual mail stuff to keep the mailing list running. I am not
even the person deciding for the group as I do not wish it to be my
property. The person deciding can remove me from the mailing
list. It is unlikely that it will have a negative impact on the mailing list.

It is to avoid the group being used to further the interests of a
person or his/her company.

The person using an _at_hotmail.com email address does not have any
financial interest in internet-related matters. The person using an
_at_gmail.com email address subscribed to the mailing list since some
several months and several subscribers have met him in person.
