I only participate if I think that I have something of value to add to the discussion. Otherwise, what’s the point? I think it’s fine for people to be passive readers.

As far as I’m concerned, no one in MIU speaks on my behalf. I didn’t vote for anybody; ergo no one in MIU represents me.

I view MIU for what it is: a mailing list for Mauritian Internet users.

Let’s not get bogged down with rules and bureaucracy. Ideas are what matter. A bad idea that is articulated in formal language is still a bad idea. It’s better to express yourself in a clear, simple style than in a formal style with lots of unnecessary ceremony.
