Here are some old comments:

According to
http://blog.soluto.com/2013/07/how-oracle-manages-java-and-pushes-ask-toolbar/
40% of ask.com installations from the company's statistics are caused
by "a Java update or install". Getting listed by Microsoft as a
"high threat" is not a good sign.

The ranking of ask.com is 10. That is higher than orange.mu or
live.com. The ranking of ask.com in Reunion Island is 12. Those
rankings are unusually high compared to other countries. Logan made
an interesting find. In some other countries there would be a person
or organisation looking into such issues and sharing the
results. That helps to evaluate the security risk. Is anyone doing
that in Mauritius?
