What is your opinion on the following "amendment" proposed[1] to the
Attorney General's Office by the Ministry of Technology, Communication &
Innovation:
The CERT-MU shall have such functions as may be necessary to enhance
cybersecurity and shall, in particular –
[..]
d) Authorize to monitor and collect traffic data or information
for cybersecurity;
i) The Government shall, to enhance cybersecurity and for
identification, analysis and prevention of any cyber
intrusion or spread of computer infections in the country,
authorize CERT-MU to monitor and collect traffic data or
information generated, transmitted, received or stored at
the level of Internet Service Providers.
ii) The Government shall also authorize CERT-MU to *monitor and
collect traffic data* or information generated,
transmitted, received or *stored in any computer resource
at any location within territory of Mauritius*.
