The article mentions laws from another country. Are these laws
applicable in Mauritius?
The article mentioned that a small company scraps information (data)
from LinkedIn. According to the Wall Street Journal, the small
company analyzes the information to predict whether an employee is
likely to leave his/her job. The CEO of the small company argued
that LinkedIn is trying to force it out so that they can have the
business for themselves.
I'd say that it is not okay to prevent web scrapping for
anti-competitive purposes. It is also not okay to blatantly copy [1]
information published on a web site and paste it unless the web site
allows that.
