Agreed.

There was the following question in a news
Part of the reply was:
I read a 2003 document
which compared gender imbalance in computer
science in the United States and in
Mauritius. According to that paper, "the
percentage of women studying computing in
Mauritius has increased to levels proportional to
the percentage of women in the general
population". The paper showed that the reasons
for the gender issues occurring in other
countries were not applicable to Mauritius.

The percentage of women participating in tech
events, whether locally or abroad, is very
low. What should be done to encourage more women
to participate in local tech events?
