Maybe the path could be:

1. User sends his current location using only words: street number and
name, point of interest (tabagie, jumbo, fill in, ... )
2. Service geocodes location and finds a list of nearest restaurants
3. Service sends to user a list of places to eat and directions

Implies to first geolocate every snack / restaurant / boutique / road,
but this can be crowd sourced by the shops so that they can reach more
clients by being in a database.

This way no realtime lowfi GPS on the smartphone is needed. Works even
during cyclone. Can also be sms only.

Eventually User sends a picture of his surroudings so that machine
learning creates a street view.

Is your idea to help people find restaurants nearby ?
