Hi Ish,

There was a news article [1] about "des menaces
contre une famille sur Facebook" in which a
member of the family said that: "Nous dénonçons
l’absence de soutien des autorités, bien que nous
ayons porté plainte à la Cybercrime Unit à
plusieurs reprises". I mentioned previously that
the IP address from which a message or photo is
posted can only be obtained from Facebook
[2]. According to the latest Facebook
Transparency Report there hasn't been any request from Mauritius.

It is strange to hear people talking about
"cybercrime" when the country seems unable to get
basic information which is generally used
(outside Mauritius) for an investigation related
to Facebook. What's the use of having workshops
about "cybercrime" if there isn't any scientific investigation?

Regards,
S. Moonesamy
