Personal Information required on govmu.org

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was reading https://www.govmu.org/English/Pages/SignUp.aspx and I found that the Republic of Mauritius requires personal information to create a new account on the govmu.org.

I went through the privacy policy and did not find any information regarding the reason why one should provide his/her National ID number, marital status, date of birth and gender. I would be grateful if you could explain why the personal information is required to access Government services.
