Hello Shelly.
The reason you were asked to pass this security check is because Facebook
is trying to fight against fake profiles and bots. There might be currently
170 million fake users in Facebook. Bots might have been used in Facebook
to create fake profiles and to get unreal likes and shares. Maybe the
Facebook page from which you were sharing a certain post used such kind of
software. (Just an assumption)
There is an interesting article [1] where it is described how the software
which creates fake Facebook profiles work.
