Hello MIU people,
I am Yusuf Satar, developer (with 'expertise' in web) and linux
enthusiast (by no means expert).
I have been a long time lurker in the user groups, like LUGM, not having
participated having all too often been humbled by many of the personalities.
I've attended the DevCon. SM, Ish and Shelly have managed to convince me
of the importance of a common voice in order to bring change to our
beloved ICT sector (and the Mauritian society in general) through better
connectivity.

I have worked in several companies, and all of them face the same
challenges when it comes to connectivity; half of our teams and most of
our clients are abroad, setting up an appropriate workflow is a major
challenge. This is a major limiting factor for the ICT sector in
Mauritius; ideally I believe Mauritius Telecom should be re-nationalized
and used to promote the sector (as well as education) in the same manner
that Air Mauritius helps the tourism sector. Utopia or not, this is my
belief.

On the normal side of things, I have faced several issues as an end-user
of Orange; and I believe it is futile to continually unleash our
frustrations on call agents. I look forward to more effective means of
asserting our rights, and I will try, to the best of my ability, to
assist you in your endeavours.

Best Regards,
Yusuf Satar

P.S. I will try to read the past archives, and try to get to speed,
please do bear with me.
