I actually wrote "There isn't much interest in
Linux." My explanation about Open Source and
Microsoft was made related to the original
message from Logan. The topic of interest to a
few persons on this mailing list which is poorly
announced is "security issues" relating to the Internet in Mauritius.

I only expect a few persons at the Developers
Conference to be interested in this mailing list
as the audience is likely software developers
whereas the Mauritius Internet Users is not a
technical group. As for the activities my
preference is for them to be done in a transparent manner.

According to Ish [1] the discussions about the
state of the .mu ccTLD on the mailing list has
resulted in participation in a Multi Stakeholder
Forum. I have asked the Ministry of Technology,
Communication and Innovation to invite another
representative of the Mauritius Internet Users in
that forum. I wrote to the Chair and two members
of the ICT Advisory Council about 100 Mbps local
access to the internet at an affordable price for
residential users. I hope that the two members
will be able to show a positive result.
