Hello SM, Ish and Nadim,

I do agree that using social networks to collaborate and discuss serious matters is not really effective since you have loads of distractions in these.

But however, in case we would be doing something for students, social networks such as facebook would be the proper channel. Its the best way you can reach out for them.

To: SM, I seriously, I can't see anyone putting some serious effort in training and teaching students about open source platforms.

And the real problem is that those guys who are paid do these kinds of job are in most cases doing it to get their lunch.

The idea is not to only give the knowledge but also to transmit the passion of I.T to those student and I believe only a devoted community can achieve that IDK if you would agree with me.

With regards to that you have said about attributions. Some time people are really not ready even if they want to do something great. So I'd give them time and push them up a little bit. :)

Will you own all the discussions archived on Reddit or Google Groups? At
least with elandnews.com we can harass SM of anything goes wrong :-)

Besides, I keep track of professional discussions on email and it's helping
a lot. Now, imagine the situation when I have to reply something through
email on MIU and LUGM, login to meetup.com or trello.com for MSCC and then
keep track of what's cooking on reddit/Google Groups. Hmm... I would stick
to emails for threaded communication, with a public archive that is
searchable.

Just my 2 cents though...

Cheers,
