Dear Mr Oolun, I am writing to you to convey my disappointment
regarding your statement against Mr Sookun. As Internet has become so
pervasive today, I believe that many people are weary about how it is
evolving in Mauritius, given the recent turn of events.

I am very shocked to learn that there is no public report regarding
the public consultation that took place, in 2011. I believe that this
severely weakens the position of Mauritius when it comes to
transparency, and the multi-stakeholder model which has always been at
the core of the Internet community. The way the Internet filtering was
handled has severely damaged our reputation, as a regional ICT Hub.

I do hope that ICTA will work with members of the Local Internet
Community to solve the current situation, instead of claiming that Mr
Sookun, or any concerned member of the Internet Community is attacking
ICTA. I want ICTA to do a good job as a regulator. I hope that we can
all work together, and build a better internet for Mauritius.

Kind regards,
