Yes, I am pretty sure PayPal will charge for the transfers; Still, for large sums, like paying for services, it's a good solution. Regarding what Benoit said, I agree with him. Maybe when the Merchant Services will be released, that would be better.

just did a test. A friend sent me $1 and I was
credited $0.67 in my account. To transfer the same in
my card, Paypal will charge $5.
